She started in the hospital Binnen Gasthuis (she was living there as well), and served from 12 Sep 1920 in the hospital Willemina Gasthuis.3,5 Sara travelled on 16 May 1928 on the SS 'Malolo' to San Francisco, California, left from Honolulu on the SS 'Malolo', arriving on 16 May 1928 in San Francisco. Her last permanent residence was Batavia, Java. Her contact in Holland was her father Benjamin ten Bruggencate. She was staying for three weeks in the Stewart Hotel in San Francisco.6
