Rosalia Voss was born on 10 Mar 1873 in Boslar, Kr. Jülich, Bez. Aachen.1,2 She married Marinus Johannes Broekman, son of Marinus Johannes Broekman and Margaretha Cramer, on 5 May 1904 at Jülich.2 She died on 18 Mar 1947 in Amsterdam.3

Other information:
She and Marinus Johannes Broekman lived at Römerstr. 31a in Jülich4 Later, after she and Frits on 6 May 1919 came back from Malang, NOI, she lived at Saxen Weimarlaan 42-I, Amsterdam. Juup was also again living with her. She stayed at that address for the rest of her life.5,6

Mar, Rosalia and Juup went in Mar 1907 by boat through the Suez Canal to the Dutch East Indies. We have a number of postcards that she sent to her familie in Julich. Rosalia travelled on 4 Apr 1912 on the ''Koning Willem I'' to Amsterdam from Batavia with two children. She is listed as Mrs. E. Broekman-Voss.7
Juup is registered in Aug 1912 in the civil register of Amsterdam in the family of his grandfather Marinus Johannes. Following the death of Mar in 1917, Rosalia and Frits can only in 1919 return to Holland, because of the war [1st World War]. Because Rosalia was of German descent, in Gibraltar they had to swear an oath that they were not German sympathisers. They are registered on 6 Mei 1919 in the civil register of Amsterdam, and Juup is registered with his mother on 12 May 1919.8,5 Rosalia travelled on 5 Mar 1919 on the ''Vondel'' to Amsterdam from Batavia with her son Frits. They arrived on 11 April in Amsterdam.9,10 She was mentioned in the passengerlist ( of the 'Koenigstein' on 30 Jul 1938) as contact person for Elise Metzger.11
